Irving, Texas (March 31, 2006) - The 340B Prime Vendor Program managed by HealthCare Purchasing Partners International ® (HPPI) announced that it has added Dispensing Solutions Inc. (DSI) to its growing list of companies providing drugs, supplies and medical devices to clinics, hospitals and health care programs for low-income Americans. HPPI's three-year contract with DSI began April 1, 2006.
Dispensing Solutions Inc., a leader in repackaged pharmaceuticals and the premiere provider of medication dispensing programs, is proud to offer Care340B (TM) to 340B Prime Vendor participants at discounted rates.
Care340B (TM) is a comprehensive solution for Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) grantees, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and FQHC look-alikes, family planning clinics, HIV/Ryan White clinics, state-operated AIDS drug assistance programs, black lung clinics, hemophilia treatment centers, urban Native American organizations, native Hawaiian health centers, sexually transmitted disease and tuberculosis clinics, and disproportionate share hospitals and other safety-net providers eligible for Public Health Service (340B) pricing.
The Care340B (TM) program provides a formulary of patient ready packaged medications that represent all major therapeutic categories in the most common strengths and frequently prescribed dosing.
The Care340B (TM) Program utilizes DSI's highly successful and proven DispenseQuick System (TM) and is supported by DSI Customer Service Center. The entire Care340B (TM) formulary is packaged in DSI proprietary 10-Pak dispensing cartridges and is also fully compatible with DSI's eDispense (TM) medication dispensing technology.
"The goal of the 340B Prime Vendor program is to expand and ensure access to life-saving medicines," said Chris Hatwig, senior director of the 340B Prime Vendor program. "Such access is critically important to patients, and we're pleased to partner with DSI to make their products available to these patients."
The Prime Vendor program was established to increase the discounts already offered under Section 340B of the U.S. Public Health Service Act. HPPI was selected from competing group purchasing organizations and other companies to administer the program. Hatwig said that currently over 12,000 providers across the country qualify to participate in the discount program at no cost, and more than 2,500 facilities are currently enrolled in the 340B Prime Vendor Program.
"DSI is proud to be a part of the 340B Prime Vendor program," said Richard Wolpow, company founder and COO. "This partnership further demonstrates DSI's commitment to providing those most in need access to important medications."
